Dave Fenn, the owner of Childers Radiator Services established his first radiator business in 1986, servicing the BHP Iron Ore fleet in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.
BHP’s fleet consisted of 50 locomotives of various models such as c/class, m/class, dash 7, dash 8 these trains are now one of the longest in the southern hemisphere in one of the hottest environments so the cooling systems were critical and carefully monitored.
Dave purchased Childers Radiator Services in 1998 servicing the sugar industry and has been involved in the replacement of the fleet engine and cooling systems at the Isis and Tully Sugar Mills.
This requires manufacturing and suppling new radiators, oil coolers and header tanks specifically made to suit their DH locomotives.
